This thread is intended to serve as request for chat rooms thread PhysicsOverflow.

Please post general requests for chat rooms as answers below and give a short name and description of its purpose. A administrator will then create a corresponding "chat user" on who's wall the chat can take place.

As soon as the chat user is created, the note [created] will be editin in at the start of the answer, and a link to the corresponding user's wall will be posted.

Closed as per community consensus as the post is no longer relevant. Just create a chat room.

This is certainly a great option. It has most of the features of Chat.SE.

We need a general chat room  for PhysicsOverflow called funny name to talk about  issues that need a fast response.

I vote that funny name is the coupling, which was the original name for the hbar on Physics.SE.

There is another chat plugin here, but i suspect it may not be as good as the one suggested by polarkernel in Dilaton's answer. I don't think multiple chat rooms can be created with this one.
