thanks Dilaton.  I remembered it had to do with Ron. We have a saying in ancient greek "old age does
not come alone". I vaguely remember the times,  I almost left myself . I started thinking about it because I got a polical commenter who was upset that I quoted the post  on the blog of Lubos https://motls.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-classical-fields-particles-emerge.html . Because Lubos has his right wing political theories in the same blog, nobody should quote physics from it!! I tried to tell him that physics content is the important thing on a physics discussion, but he kept on and I had to flag his comments. The result is the moderators erased all comments without leaving a note.  Ron is really a rolling stone. His physics is good, and that is all the interests me.

Hi Anna,
I am sorry to hear that your menory starts to fail (or is it just a temporary side effect the very stressful actions governements all over the world inflict on their citicens. I am losing my keys, cellphone, etc all the time because of this :-/).

For me, the first bad thing that showed that something does not square on SE, was the suspension of Ron Maimon in the context of the moderator elections on Physics SE 2012 together with the brutal and very negative interference of SE staff and people from all over the network with the site.

My highly upvoted post got deleted, Arnold s attempt to help still remains for now ...

https://physics.meta.stackexchange.com/q/2746/2751

In the course of time, it got more and more clear that even though they superficially claim otherwise, the SE network is not the right avenue for a high-level academic in spirit physics site to thrive ...

The SE company seems to be screwing things up more and more as it seems

https://meta.stackexchange.com/q/340906/184300

which is fortunately no longer our problem ;-)

Cheers

Hi Anna,

good that it works now for you :-)

The working of some of our beyond SE features, such as the displayment of comments, is probably not always as straight forward as we thought ...

Cheers

Hi Anna,

he seems to be active in some discussions mostly about politics (or Blade Runner) from his Disqus profile:

Ron's comment was not directed at your comment, but at another comment (which I think is spam). See my reply there.
