About:

Epoxide monomers are highly reactive compounds characterized by a three-membered cyclic ether group (an oxygen atom bonded to two adjacent carbon atoms, forming an epoxide ring). Due to the ring strain in this structure, epoxides readily undergo ring-opening reactions, making them versatile building blocks in polymer chemistry, coatings, adhesives, and composites. Common examples include ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, and epichlorohydrin, which are widely used to produce epoxy resins, polyethers, and cross-linked polymers.
