I have reconstructed a wavefront (phase $\phi$ and amplitude) and want to conduct a Zernike decomposition of the phase. However, I am not sure, which "size" of the reconstructed phase to select. The FWHM or $1/e^2$ beam waist comes to mind, is this the right approach? Is there any convention?
