Regaining my account if I sign into SE using Google

I would like to "regain" my Physics.SE account, which I assume means make a new account here and link it up with my Physics.SE account so that stuff can be imported. I sign into SE using Google.

However, when I try to do the "regain account" it *seems* to be asking me to enter my Gmail password into a form that clearly isn't originating from a Google server. That can't be right, can it? In any case there's no way on Hell or Earth that I would do such a thing, even if it was over an https connection, which it isn't.

Is there a way to link my accont here to my SE one without giving you the password to my primary email account?

As PhysicsOverflow is not part of the Stack Exchange network, it is not possible to diractly link accounts here to accounts on SE sites. However members  who would like some, a whole bunch, or all of their for PhysicsOverflow on topic SE posts (questions and answers) to be imported, can request this on the Import votes thread, which is accessible from a link in the top menu bar.

Users who have problems with regaining their SE or TP.SE accounts and/or are worried about giving their password away, are adviced to report this to

admin@physicsoverflow.org

We will then reset the already existing account for you and send you the new login data (user name, email, and a newly created password) per mail. The password (and email) can afterwards be changed under "My Account" at the top of the page.

Thanks, I'll do that. It might be worth making a note of this on the regain account page itself.
